THE FLORIDA STATE WINNIE-GATORS Club Campout was held at Tropical Palms RV Resort in Kissimmee, Florida in May. There were 55 coaches in attendance for this outing. The festivities began on Friday afternoon with Happy Hour followed by a catered dinner. At our General Membership meeting on Saturday we voted on the charity we wanted to support this year. The winner is the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association. To learn more about this disease visit www.pwsausa.org. We also support Dogs for the Deaf through donations of pull-tabs from soda and beer cans.
We were informed about the many activities that are planned for pre-GNR for the Florida Row as well as the Row Party plans. We hope you will all come visit us at the Rally. Plans for the Florida State Rally, being held March 6 to 9 at the Central Florida Fairgrounds are well underway.
After the meeting, Camping World sponsored an ice cream social and talked about the many different insurance options that Camping World has to offer RVers. Following the ice cream social, Ron Wacker (Suncoast Winnies), held an informational seminar on using your laptop on the road and keeping your personal information secure. This was a great seminar and was well attended. Thanks, Ron!
Club members spent the rest of the day enjoying the amenities at the campground as well as the many activities available in the Kissimmee area. Saturday afternoon we had another happy hour followed by an excellent dinner and motor home races sponsored by the Caloosa Winnies. Perhaps No. 2 will make it to Forest City in time for the 2008 GNR.
Our next campout is October 17-21 at Sun N Fun RV Resort in Sarasota, Florida.
